- Abstract:

The activity of the Yujiang fault has been studied in this paper.Combining the seismic fault with the earthquake case analyses in the mid-Yunnan area it is considered that this fault is a seismic structure having M6.5 earthquake risk.The major risk segment is Epipleistocene part,where is only 700m away from the dam.Once an earthquake occurs the dam will suffer VIII or VIII+ damage.Although an earthquake will not cause irresistible dislocation damage to the dam the surface strain value is possibly greater than 0.65×10-4,which will greatly threaten the safety of the dam.Therefore an effective reinforcement measures against the strain should be taken to the dam body.
