- Abstract:

The seismogeologic environment around Jinghong,Yunnan,Hydropower Station Reservoir,including major active faults,seismicity,faults feature and the relation between them and the reservoir,were comprehensively studied.It is thought that the seismogeologic environment around the Jinghong reservoir is complicated.Because the Lancangjiang,Lancang-Mengzhe and Wuliangshan faults not only develop in the reservoir area,but also lie between Lancang-Gengma Earthquake Belt and Simao-Puer Earthquake Belt.Besides,a series of NW-trending faults,Lancangjiang,Jiufang,Baimashan,Daluo,Mengyanghe,Dashuigang-Citong,Anmashan,Sandashan,Yuzhongdui faults,form a 10-to 20-km-wide NW-trending fault belt in the reservoir area.So the Jinghong reservoir has basic condition of inducing seismicity,and the more dangerous areas are the near-dam segment of the Lancangjiang fault,the south segment of Anmashan fault,and the Baimashan fault.
