On the basis of the image interpretation,geological investigation of the field by Quaternary mapping,sample collecting and difference GPS measuring of the surface etc.,We study the relationship between quaternary geomorphologic features in the Anninghe River Fault Zone.And the adjacent region and the activity of Anninghe Fault Zone.And we analyze the activity characteristics of the Anninghe River Fault Zone since Late Quaternary,and discuss the risk of strong earthquakes in the Anninghe River Fault Zone.The results show that the Anninghe River Fault Zone featured a strong left-lateral strike slip and thrust since the Late Quaternary.The Anninghe River Fault Zone can be divided into two parts; in the north segment,the last earthquake event may occurred around the 15th century AD,in the south segment,the last event may occurred in 1536 in Xichang City of Sichuan Province.The strong-earthquake risk in the north segment of the Anninghe River Fault Zone is higher than the one in the south segment and the future strong earthquake's magnitude will be 7.5 or so.
