Reservoir-induced seismicity(RIS for short)is the result from reservoir impounding.According to the research during past half century,the cause of RIS may be complex.However,based on the tectonic analysis of some RIS samples in the world and China,there existed obvious faulting response to RIS,which were shown as the heterogeneous distribution of the RIS epicenters,the RIS epicenters centralizing in a belt,the uncertain position relationship between the reservoir and RIS belt,and RIS belt being controlled by some faults in the reservoir area.
