- We introduce the characteristics of MS≥7.0 earthquake activities in the Sichuan-Yunnan region,the relationship between MS≥7.0 earthquakes in Sichuan and the active/quiet period of MS≥6.7 earthquakes in Yunnan,the characteristic of MS≥6.7 earthquake episodes in the Sichuan-Yunnan region,the characteristics of MS≥5.0 earthquake activities in the Yunnan region,the distribution of MS≥3.0 earthquakes in the Sichuan-Yunnan region after the Wenchuan MS8.0 earthquake,and analyzed the earthquake tendency in Yunnan after the Wenchuan earthquake.It is not too possible for the Yunnan region to enter a new round of active period in the coming 1-2 years.The Sichuan region will be the major seismicity zone of next active period in the Sichuan-Yunnan region,and the seismicity in Yunnan is lower than that in Sichuan,possible maximum magnitude about 7.0.The Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block is the most possible place where MS≥5 earthquake occurs.
