In this paper,we calculate the torsion, tension and vertical deformation of the Xianshuihe fault over the years and discuss the fault activity behavior on the basis of deformation of the measuring point along the fault based on the observational data of short leveling and baseline along the Xianshuihe fault since 1981.The results show that the torsion and tension deformation has changed a little, but vertical deformation is not obvious along the the middle-south segment of Xianshuihe fault after the Kunlun Mountain MS8.1 Earthquake. The decreased torsion deformation at the Goupu measuring point in the middle segment is similar to that of the Daofu MS6.9 earthquake.Compressive activity of the fault had consummated after 1997,drawn on to the fault locking status with a high-speed from 2002 to 2005.Till 2006 to 2007,its activity behavior of years changed and tensional activity trend showed up.Also, the left-lateral distortion deformation in the Laoqianning measuring point also changed and the right-lateral distortion deformation trend has come into being.
