- Abstract:
- According to geological tectonics,motion strength and the difference between the historical earthquake activities in the Tianshan Mountain region,we divide the South Tianshan Mountain into two tectonic regions—the eastern segment and the western one.Considering the fact that the sub-stations of Xinjiang Seismic Network was established in different periods and distributed not so well,and based on the analysis of the frequency character with the different magnitude thresholds in the two tectonic regions,we study G-R expression and character of magnitude distribution in different periods in the two regions,and apply Z Test to analyze the difference between the small earthquake catalogues in different periods,then we evaluate the catalogue completeness of small earthquakes in different periods since 1970.The result may provide reference for people to apply reasonably the earthquake catalogue to the regional seismicity research.
