The concentration of soil gases CO2,CH4,H2,Rn,Hg in the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang Fault Zone was measured across the Fault,the spatial distribution characteristics of these soil gases and their causes were analyzed,and the geochemical characteristics of the soil gases and the fault's activity were discussed.In April 2021,a total of 10 surveying areas were arranged in the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang Fault Zone,and 4 surveying profiles were arranged in each surveying area for soil gas measurement,with a total of 640 survey points.The measurement results show that:① The average soil gas concentration of CO2,CH4,H2,Rn,Hg in the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang Fault Zone is 0.4%,12.0 ppm,5.3 ppm,13.53 kBq/m3 and 11.29 ng/m3,respectively.② The high values of the soil gas concentration in the Luhuo Section of the Xianshuihe Fault,in the Mianning-Xichang section of the Anninghe Fault and in the Zemuhe Fault show that the shorter the elapsed time of the historical large earthquake is,the higher the sliding rate of the Fault will be.The intenser the activity of recent small earthquakes is,the more developed the fault fissures will be,and the higher the soil gas concentration will be.The low values of the soil gas concentration of the Xuemenkan Fault in the Xianshuihe Fault Zone and the North section of the Xiaojiang Fault Zone show that the shorter the elapsed time of the historical large earthquakes is,the weaker the current seismicity of the Fault will be.The lower the sliding rate of the faultis,and the lower the development of the fault fissures is,the lower the soil gas concentration will be.
