The bore-hole water temperature observation is a main earthquake precursor observation method of geothermal observation network. Before the 2007 Ning'er M6.4 earthquake in Yunnan, the bore-hole water temperature anomalies, including medium-term trend anomalies,short-term anomalies, and impending-earthquake anomalies, happened in groups in Yunnan. The impending-earthquake anomalies emerged in two months before the earthquake, most of which appeared as temperature rising, and the anomalous amplitude was 0.005-0.25℃. Of the short-term anomalies, most appeared as temperature dropping, and the anomalous amplitude was 0.01-0.04℃.The medium-term anomalies included rising type and rising-turning type, and the anomalous amplitude was 0.03-0.4℃.The appearance of these matched precursor anomalies is conducive to the identification of anomalies before an earthquake and putting forward earthquake prediction advice.
