Within an aftershock sequence,the characteristic parameters of the sequence remarkably change with time and space. However,the reason for the change is not clear at present. The characteristic parameters of the Wenchuan earthquake sequence,b value and p value,differ in space significantly. We try to explain the difference from the angle of static Coulomb stress,and find that the static Coulomb stress change is in positive correlation with b value,but in negative correlation with p value at the location deviated from the fracture plane.
