- Abstract:
- According to the geological and geomorphic characteristics of the Louang Nam Tha fault in Laos and the satellite photograph explanation for it,we studied the neo-tectonic movement behaviors and patterns of the fault.The results show:(1)the neo-tectonic activity of the fault is mainly formal and left-lateral dip-slip,the updated active time is in late-Pleistocene;(2)there were a series of earthquakes with M≥6.0 occurring along the fault,especially the Ban Namkhan,Laos,MS6.6 earthquake on May 16,2007,concerning the activity of the fault very nearly.
