Comparing amplitude-frequency characteristic of several different wavelet basis functions and carrying out time-frequency analysis of analog seismic record,we expect to find the wavelet basis function which exactly describes time-frequency characteristic of seismic signals while making time-frequency analysis with wavelet packet.Then,the result is that we can exactly describe time-frequency variation characteristics of analog seismic signals with wavelet basis function dmey.It means that wavelet basis function dmey is more appropriate for time-frequency analysis of earthquake signals using wavelet packet transform.
